KNIGHTS ANNOUNCE MANAGEMENT RESTRUCTURING
The London Knights have announced that Mark Hunter will be assuming the role of General Manager with the team. Current General Manager, Rob Simpson, will assume the role of Associate General Manager.
Hunter, the team’s Owner and Vice-President, will reassume the role of General Manager after spending time with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Hunter was named Director of Player Personnel for the Maple Leafs in 2014 and was later promoted to Assistant General Manager. Previous to his role with the Maple Leafs, Hunter spent 14 seasons as the General Manager of the Knights.
“I am very happy to be back in London,” said Hunter. “We have a strong group within our organization and I look forward to returning to work with everyone to develop an even stronger team for our fans and for our city and the community.”
Simpson will assume the role of Associate General Manager. Simpson was named General Manager of the Knights in July of 2016 after serving as the team’s Assistant General Manager/Assistant Coach since 2012. Simpson will be working hand in hand with Hunter on any operational matters with the organization.
“Rob and I will be working together every day in order to achieve the goals of our organization,” continued Hunter. “He has done an outstanding job in all facets of his position and I look forward to continuing to work with him on all elements within our organization. We are excited for this upcoming season and look forward to bringing another competitive team forward to entertain and excite our fans.”
