HIGHLIGHTS | Knights vs Attack | 9/25
For the second consecutive weekend, the Knights are undefeated.
After leaving the first period trailing 1-0, Evan Van Gorp got London on the board early in the
second with his third goal of the season. Owen Sound got the upper hand with a 5-on-3 penalty
kill to put the Attack back in front.
Kicking the game into high gear, Cooper McAslan made it a tie game once again, scoring his
third goal of the season.
In just over three minutes, Eloan Le Gallic gave London a lead with his second goal of the
season, Carson Harmer followed with his first as a Knight, before Cohen Bidgood added another
on the power play.
Safe to say the Knights made up for a scoreless first period. And goals weren’t the only thing
getting the crowd buzzing.
Maksim Sokolovskii continued to prove he is a force to be reckoned with in his first season as a
Knight. The Philadelphia Flyers first-round pick came out early with a massive hit, and later
dropped the gloves with Owen Sound’s Julian Brown.
At a staggering 6-foot-8, Sokolovskii is hard to miss. Friday night, he made sure he was even
harder to ignore.
Owen Sound managed to inch closer to London’s lead in the third period and an extra attacker
paid off, bringing the game within one.
With unwavering confidence, Thomas Zocco restored the Knights’ two-goal lead, followed by
Van Gorp’s second of the game on an empty net to secure a 7-4 victory.
First Star, Cohen Bidgood, credited the Knights performance to what he called the best fans in
the CHL, and the bond this group has built both on and off the ice. That connection is already
becoming clear three games into the season.
The Knights are back at Canada Life Place Friday, October 2nd, facing the North Bay Battalion.
