IceDogs Rookie Netminder Connor Haffner Commits to University of Vermont
NIAGARA, ONT. – Niagara IceDogs rookie goaltender Connor Haffner has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey and continue his education at the University of Vermont following his Ontario Hockey League (OHL) career.
“I would like to thank my parents, family, coaches, advisor, and everyone who has supported me along the way. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited for what the future holds. Go Catamounts!” Haffner said in a social media post.
A native of Ottawa, Haffner was selected by the IceDogs in the fifth round, 95th overall, of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
“Connor has worked at his game, and it showed throughout last season,” said IceDogs general manager Dale DeGray.
The 17-year-old has made three starts since joining Niagara, posting a 2-1-0 record, a 3.03 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.
Haffner most recently started Saturday against the Central Division rival Barrie Colts, stopping 31 of 33 shots to help lead the IceDogs to a 4-2 victory.
His performance earned him OHL Rookie of the Week honours. Haffner finished the game with two goals against and a .939 save percentage.
Congratulations, Connor!
