IceDogs Announce 2023-2024 Leadership Group
NIAGARA, ON – The Niagara IceDogs have named their 2023-2024 leadership group, which will consist of six Alternate Captains.
The Leadership Group is as follows:
- Alex Assadourian: Alternate Captain
- Connor Federkow: Alternate Captain
- Gavin Bryant: Alternate Captain
- Kevin He: Alternate Captain
- Michael Podolioukh: Alternate Captain (Absent from photo)
- Zak Lavoie: Alternate Captain
Alex Assadourian, a 2005 born forward who attended Maple Leafs Development Camp this past summer will be entering his third OHL season after recording 33 points in 34 games last season. Assadourian previously spent time with the Sudbury Wolves after being drafted by them 37th overall in the 2021 Priority Selection.
Connor Federkow, a native of St. Catharines, ON, will get the opportunity to wear a letter for his hometown team after spending the last four seasons in the London Knights organization. The overage defenceman will don an “A” for the first time in his OHL career.
Gavin Bryant will wear an “A” for the second consecutive year after been named an alternate captain for the Owen Sound Attack during the 2022-2023 OHL season. The 2004 born forward was recently acquired from the Attack in the offseason.
Kevin He, fresh off tying the franchise record in goals for a rookie will wear an “A” as he enters his NHL Draft year. The second year forward put up 21 goals and 34 points in his rookie season.
Michael Podolioukh, a veteran forward from Toronto, ON spent two seasons playing for the North Bay Battalion before being acquired last season by the IceDogs. He was drafted 70th overall in the 2020 Priority Selection.
Zak Lavoie, acquired from Mississauga last season, recorded 18 goals and 20 assists for 38 points in 41 games for the IceDogs. The native of New Orleans, ON will have the opportunity to wear an “A” for the first time in his OHL career.

The IceDogs will have a working rotation for alternate captains.

The IceDogs will open up the season in London as they take on the Knights on Friday September 29th at Budweiser Gardens. The two teams will then travel to the Meridian Centre for Saturday September 30th as the Knights come into town for IceDogs Home Opener. Home Opener tickets can be purchased Here!
