Braeden Kressler Named OHL Player of the Week
FLINT, Mich. – The Ontario Hockey League announced on Monday that Braeden Kressler has been named the league’s Cogeco OHL Player of the Week.
Kressler recorded two goals and five assists along with a +3 plus/minus rating during Flint’s three games over the past week. He recorded his 100th career OHL point in the 4-3 shootout loss to the Erie Otters on Friday and helped the Firebirds to a 2-0-0-1 record, which included wins over the Owen Sound Attack and Mississauga Steelheads.
Kressler is riding a five-game point streak, during which he has totaled five goals and eight assists. The Toronto Maple Leafs prospect has notched at least two points in every game of his point streak. He is currently second on the team with 17 points across 12 games played this season. Kressler also leads the Firebirds in faceoff percentage, having won 55.1% of his draws.
The Firebirds return to action on Wednesday night in Saginaw against the Spirit for the continuation of the Coors Light I-75 Divide Cup. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at the Dow Event Center.
