Get ready to lace up, bundle up, and take on the coolest 5K in Flint! Join us on Sunday, December 28th, 2025 at the Dort Financial Center for the Flint Firebirds Foundation’s Frozen 5K, sponsored by Flint Bishop Airport.
Whether you’re skating on ice, running the concourse, or taking a brisk walk, this fun-filled community event is open to all ages and experience levels — families, first-timers, and fitness fanatics alike!
Event Details:
- Date: Sunday, December 28th, 2025
- Skating Heat times: Heat 1: 9:00-9:40am, Heat 2: 9:50-10:30am, Heat 3: 10:40-11:20am, Heat 4: 11:30am-12:10pm, and Heat 5: 12:20-1:00pm.
- Running Heat times: Heat 1: 9:00-9:50am and Heat 2: 10:00-10:50am
- Running & Walking Heat times: 11:00am-12:30pm
- Walking Heat time: 12:30-2:00pm
- Location: Dort Financial Center: 3501 Lapeer Rd. Flint, MI 48503
- Race Format:
- Ice Skating: Complete 40 laps (5K distance) around the rink within 40 minutes.
- Frozen 5k participants must bring their own skates to participate in event.
- Running/Walking: Complete 19 laps (5k distance) around the main arena concourse.
- Ice Skating: Complete 40 laps (5K distance) around the rink within 40 minutes.
Event Pricing Options:
- Season Membership Holder & Sponsors: $35.00
- 2025–26 Season Membership Holders and Sponsors can register for the Frozen 5K at an exclusive rate of $35.00 per participant. To receive this special offer, please complete the registration form below and select “Season Member Participant” at the end of the form to check out.
- Payment will not be collected during registration. A Firebirds Office representative will contact you once your membership has been verified. You will then receive a payment link via email, or you may choose to complete payment over the phone.

- Frozen 5K + Game Ticket: $55.00
- Game ticket valid for Sunday, December 28th vs Windsor Spitfires at 4pm
- Youth Frozen 5K Participant + Game Ticket: $45.00
- Participant must be 12 & under

All Participants Will Receive:
- Firebirds Frozen 5K t-shirt
- Registration deadline to guarantee event t-shirt’s is Friday, December 5th.
- Additional t-shirts may be available during event for participants or for purchase (limited sizes will be available)
- Firebirds Lap Counter Clicker
- Limited to the first 200 registrants
- Firebirds Frozen 5K medal upon completion

- Choose Your Heat Time:
- Select your preferred ice skating, running, running & walking, or walking only heat time during registration.
- Select Your T-Shirt Size:
- Be sure to indicate your event t-shirt size during registration.

- Arrive 20 minutes prior to your heat time for:
- Check-in at event table located inside the main lobby
- Event t-shirt and lap clicker pick-up
- Signing the participation liability waiver
