Colts edge Frontenacs 4-3

The Barrie Colts came in as the hottest Ontario Hockey League team and there was nothing the Kingston Frontenacs could do to cool them off.
The Colts used three unanswered second-period goals to set up their 10th victory in the last 11 games, a 4-3 verdict over the Frontenacs before 3,321 fans Friday night at the Rogers K-Rock Centre.
The Frontenacs (14-16-3-2) made it interesting when Ryan Verbeek, with goaltender Jeremy Helvig on the bench for an extra attacker, scored at 19:18 to cut Barrie’s lead to one.
Sam Schutt, who had scored at 13:56 of the third, had one final chance for Kingston in the final 10 seconds. He took a backhander off the rush that was just wide.
Ryan Kujawinski scored Kingston’s opening goal in the first period.
