Colts down Attack 5-2

The boys hit the ice at the Bayshore for the first pre-season contest of the year this afternoon against the Barrie Colts.
The Attack had a lot of regulars out of the line-up today as Centorame, Cook, Gadjovich, Lindo, Bigras, Palmu, Brack and Brandon Hope all watched from the stands.
Things started well for the white team as Keenan Reynolds tapped home a Jeffrey Gilligan breakaway and the Attack had a 1-0 lead. Barrie would respond and take a 2-1 lead before the period would end on goals by Matthew Kreis and Givani Smith. Smith, 16 is the younger brother of former Attack star Gemel Smith.
The home team would tie the game at two when Zach Nastasiuk potted his first of the pre-season, but it was all Barrie from there as they would take a 3-2 lead courtesy of Kevin Labanc. The third period was no kinder to the Attack as Tyler Rollo and former Attack forward Joseph Blandisi would add singles to give the Colts a 5-2 victory.
Jack Flinn and Michael McNiven split the goaltending duties for the Attack. Flinn turned aside 26 of 28 shots in the first half, while McNiven stopped 19 of 22.
The Attack is back in action tomorrow when they visit Barrie to take on the Colts for a 6:00pm game.
