Chase Marchand breaks a QMJHL record
BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, April 14, 2016 – The Rouyn-Noranda Huskies’ goaltender, Chase Marchand, has just written a new page in the QMJHL’s record book, setting a new mark for the longest streak without allowing a goal in the playoffs.
Marchand has not allowed a goal in 215 minutes and 8 seconds when he shoutout the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada last night. He breaks the League record established by Guillaume Lavallée who played for the Halifax Mooseheads. Lavallée established the record in the spring of 2003, accumulating 211 minutes and 36 seconds without allowing a goal.
By shutting out the Armada, Marchand also tied the record for most shutouts in a season in the playoffs. A record he shares with Guillaume Lavallée who managed the feat in 2003.
He will try to break this record and stretch his streak without allowing a goal this Friday when the Huskies will try to end the series against the Armada.
