Cougars, Chiefs to tangle in first round of 2024 WHL Playoffs
Top 2024 NHL Entry Draft prospects will tangle in the first round of the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
Berkly Catton’s Spokane Chiefs (8) will try to play spoiler against Terik Parascak’s top-ranked Prince George Cougars (1).
The Cougars solidified the matchup with a 5-2 win over the Kamloops Blazers to clinch first place in the Western Conference.
Prince George and Spokane tied their regular season series 2-1-1-0, including a pair of overtime thrillers with each side eking out a win in early March.
The Cougars and Chiefs have met in the postseason three times- most recently in the 1999-2000 season, where Spokane defeated Prince George in five games to advance to the WHL final.
The puck drops on the round one matchup on Friday, March 29 at 7:00 p.m. PST at the CN Centre in Prince George.
The series moves to the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:05 p.m. PST.
