RAIDERS BLANK BLAZERS – Alex Archibald stopped all 20 shots he faced for his first shutout of the season as the visiting Prince Albert Raiders earned a 3-0 win over the Kamloops Blazers in one of three Western Hockey League contests on Monday, October 10th.

rKyle Chipchura (pictured) scored a pair of goals for the Raiders while Mike Hellyer also tallied in the victory. It’s the second straight win for the Raiders, improving the team to 3-3-0-2 and moving them into a tie for second in the East Division.

rMichael Maniago stopped 14 of 17 shots he faced in a losing effort for the Blazers. The defeat drops the Blazers to 5-3-0-0 and leaves them third in the B.C. Division.

rElsewhere on Monday, Garrett Festerling‘s second-period shorthanded marker stood as the winner as the Regina Pats skated to a 4-1 win over the visiting Medicine Hat Tigers.

rPetr Kalus, Matt Robinson and Justin Bernhardt also tallied for the Pats while David Reekie turned in a solid 36-save performance in the victory. The win improves the Pats to 5-3-0-0 and moves them into first place in the East Division.

rDavid Schlemko scored the lone goal for the Tigers while Matt Keetley stopped 28 shots in the defeat. The loss drops the Tigers to 3-1-0-3 and keeps them second in the Central Division.

rIn other Monday action, Chris Ray scored twice – including the winner – to lift the visiting Kelowna Rockets to a 3-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos.

rJustin Keller also scored for the Rockets, who win their fifth straight contest, while Derek Yeomans turned aside 29 shots for the win. The victory improves the Rockets to 6-3-0-0 and moves them atop the B.C. Division.

rLuke Hunter and Levi Nelson scored for the Broncos while Kyle Moir stopped 31 shots in a losing cause. The defeat drops the Broncos to 2-5-0-1 and leaves them fifth in the Central Division.
