FLIGHT PATH | Warriors looking to rebound against Hurricanes
MOOSE JAW, Sask. – After a disappointing Friday night showing against the Saskatoon Blades, the Warriors are looking to get back in the win column as the race to the playoffs becomes even tighter.
The Warriors struggled to generate offence on Friday night, generating only 14 shots in three periods. Aiden Ziprick and Pavel McKenzie recorded the only Warriors goals. In net, Chase Wutzke made 43 saves on 47 shots. The Warriors went one for one for two on the power play and one for three on the penalty kill.
Last night’s goals marked the seventeenth goals of both Pavel McKenzie’s and Aiden Ziprick’s final WHL campaigns.
In three previous meetings this season, the Warriors are 2-1 against the Hurricanes. In their last meeting on February 25, the Warriors cruised to a 7-2 final score. Casey Brown tallied two goals, Aiden Ziprick and Kash Andresen each notched a goal and two points, Nolan Paquette, Pavel McKenzie, and Jan Trefny recorded two points, and Colt Carter, Dominik Pavlik, and Ethan Semeniuk each registered a goal.
The Hurricanes are 17-41-2-1 on the season. Easton Daneault leads the Hurricanes with 12 goals and 44 points. Former Moose Jaw Warrior Owen Berge ranks second with 21 goals and 40 points and Kade Duell is third with 16 goals and 40 points.
