TIGERS SHOW FIGHT ON THE ROAD
Shaun Clouston thought getting some much-needed rest turned out to be key in allowing his Medicine Hat Tigers to close a four-game road trip with a win.
On Saturday night in Brandon, the Tigers played a textbook road contest and downed the host Wheat Kings 4-2 before 4,171 spectators at Westman Place. With four games in five nights, Clouston, who is the Tigers head coach and general manager, just wanted his players to be fresh for the last contest.
“That was a great game,” said Clouston. “Basically, we just rested today. We didn’t skate. We didn’t do anything. Give the guys credit.”
The Tigers came out of the trip with a 2-1-0-1 record to move to 18-20-2-1 on the season. With a number of players and even staff battling the flu bug, the Tigers had a light off day on Thursday, which saw a normal full practice get nixed for rest time.
