Tigers’ Captain Looks To Impress NHL Avs
Medicine Hat, AB – When push came to shove, Wacey Hamilton‘s heart was with the Colorado Avalanche.
Over the course of this past season, the Avs had been in regular contact with the Medicine Hat Tigers captain. When the NHL Draft concluded in June, he was invited to the Avalanche’s main training camp.
The 20-year-old from Cochrane felt so comfortable with the Avs that he passed up a chance to sign an AHL contract with the Abbotsford Heat, who are a farm club with the NHL’s Calgary Flames.
“Calgary offered me an AHL contract,” said Hamilton over the phone from Idaho, where his family is on vacation.
