STARS SHINE BRIGHTLY IN GAME 2 WIN
TIGERS TOP LINE COLLECTS 11 POINTS IN VICTORY
The Medicine Hat Tigers got the best from their best.
The Tabbies dynamic duo of Emerson Etem and Hunter Shinkaruk got going early, and they played a key part in the biggest play of their team’s 5-3 victory over the Saskatoon Blades on Saturday night at The Arena.
With the two clubs locked in a 3-3 tie with 5:32 to play in the third, Etem fed a beauty pass across the face of the Saskatoon goal to Shinkaruk, who buried the game winner.
That goal helped the Tigers take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven opening round WHL playoff series with the Blades. The two teams will go at it again in Game 3 on Tuesday in Saskatoon.
Etem started the contest scoring twice on the power play, but he thought nothing beat getting the helper on Shinkaruk’s winner.
