GAME 44: TIGERS VS CALGARY HITMEN
VS CALGARY: This is the sixth and final meeting this season between the Tigers and Hitmen. Medicine Hat has posted a 3-2-0-0 record versus the Hitmen (2-0-0-0 at home and 1-2-0-0 in Calgary). Trevor Cox (2G,1A), Hunter Shinkaruk (1G,2A), Steven Owre (1G,2A), Tommy Vannelli (3A) and former Tiger Logan McVeigh (2G,1A) lead the Tigers with three points each. Marek Langhamer (1-0-0-0) and former Tigers Daniel Wapple (2-2-0-0) and Christopher Tai (0-0-0-0) have all seen action in net against the Hitmen. Langhamer has allowed four goals against (4.00 GAA) on 30 shots (.867 Save %) in his only start. In his four starts Wapple allowed 11 goals against (2.75 GAA) on 135 shots (.919 Save %). Tai came on in relief once allowing two goals against (20.40 GAA) on seven shots (.714 Save %). On the power play the Tigers went 5 for 17 (29.4%), while killing off 10 of 14 (71.4%) Hitmen chances.

VS CENTRAL DIVISION: The Tigers have posted an 9-8-0-0 record so far this season versus Central Division opponents.
LAST GAME: The Tigers won 2-1 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Tuesday night. Curtis Valk and Cole Sanford both scored their 20th goals of the season. Trevor Cox also had a big game on the score sheet with a pair of assists. Marek Langhamer had a strong outing in the Tigers net. He made 13 saves to pick up his 10th win of the season. The Tigers went 1 for 6 on the power play and 2 for 3 on the penalty kill.
MILESTONES: Curtis Valk continues to light the lamp on a regular basis and is now only two goals away from 100 in his career. Cole Sanford reached the 50 point plateau in his previous game and Tyler Lewington is hoping to join him soon as he is only two points away from the milestone. Trevor Cox is having another great season and will soon hit the 100 point mark for his career. He is only four points away from the milestone. Dylan Bredo continues to climb the all-time games played list for the Tigers. Bredo recently jumped into sixth place all-time and now sits with 312 games played in the orange and black. With 29 games left in the regular season Bredo could move as high as third on the all-time list.
ATB PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Chad Butcher was named the ATB Financial Player of the Week for the week ending January 12th. It is his first player of the week honour of the season. Butcher scored the game winner over Saskatoon and picked up an assist in the loss to Kelowna. Over the week the Tigers posted a 1-1-0-0 record.
