GAME 4: TIGERS VS SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS
VS SWIFT CURRENT: This is the first of four meetings this season between the Tigers and Broncos. Last season Medicine Hat posted a 3-1-0-0 record versus the Broncos (2-0-0-0 at home and 1-1-0-0 in Swift Current) with the Tigers outscoring the Broncos 12-8. Trevor Cox (1G, 5A) led the way for the Tigers with six points in the season series. Cam Lanigan (0-1-0-0) and Marek Langhamer (3-0-0-0) each saw action in net against the Broncos. Lanigan allowed five goals against (5.05 GAA) on 26 shots (.808 Save %) in his start. Langhamer picked up the trio of wins allowing only two goals against (0.65 GAA) on 104 shots (.981 Save %). On the power play the Tigers went 2 for 12 (16.7%), while killing off 8 of 9 Broncos’ opportunities (88.9%).
2013-14 WHL RANKINGS:
- Record (2-1-0-0).
- Central Div. – 3rd.
- Eastern Con. – 6th.
- Home (1-0-0-0).
- Away (1-1-0-0).
MILESTONES: After a monstrous season, Curtis Valk is looking to continue his success and should pass the 200 points, 100 assist and 100 goal plateaus. If Hunter Shinkaruk continues his scoring ways again this season he could exceed 300 career points by the end of the year. There are a few players that should also reach 100 career points during the season. Dylan Bredo, Boston Leier and Logan McVeigh should all reach the mark and with great seasons Miles Koules and Trevor Cox could also reach the milestone. A few Tigers are approaching penalty minute milestones. Boston Leier and Tyler Lewington will both reach 200 PIMs and with big seasons they could also make it to the 300 PIMs plateaus.
