FLOOD UPDATE – JUNE 24/14
Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat Tigers found themselves in a familiar situation regarding the rising waters of the South Saskatchewan River. Last week Tigers staff, volunteers, friends and family all pitched in to get valuables above the potential water zone. This afternoon and tomorrow, staff will be once again moving but this time it will be to put items back where they belong.
The City of Medicine Hat said that the river peaked on Saturday at a height of around 2900 cubic meters, far less than the 5300 from last years devestating flood.
“Although it was a lot of time and work from everyone that came to help, it was best to be proactive on the situation.” stated Tigers Manager of Communications, Ryan Plysiuk. “We thank everyone that helped last week and we look forward to having hockey back in August.”
The Medicine Hat Tigers office is NOW OPEN to the general public for inquiries, phone lines are also open by calling 403-526-2666.
The annual Season Ticket Holder Exchange is still postponed at this time, a new date should be released in the next few days.
