Medicine Hat, AB – The Medicine Hat Tiger of the Week for the week ending February 27, 2011 is forward Emerson Etem.

This is Etem’s third player of the week honour of the 2010-2011 season. Over the past week, Etem tallied four goals and two assists for six points and a plus three rating in three games. In the three games, the Tigers went 1-0-0-2.

On Wedneday night, the Kelowna Rockets came to town to take on the Tigers. The Rockets got off to an early 2-0 lead but Emerson Etem opened the scoring for the Tigers late in the first period. The Tigers ended up tying the game in the second period but went on to loss 3-2 in a shootout to the Rockets.

The Tigers next took on the Kamloops Blazers on Friday night at the Arena. Etem had a great game scoring a goal and adding two assists. Heading into the final 10 minutes of the game the Tigers had a 5-1 lead but the Blazers pulled off a miraculous comeback to force overtime. The Blazers went on to complete the comeback defeating the Tigers 6-5 in a shootout.

The next day the Tigers faced the Prince Albert Raiders. The Tigers took out their frustration on the Raiders scoring seven goals. Etem was a big part of the offence on this night scoring two goals of his own. The Tigers went on to claim a 7-3 victory over the Raiders.

At the conclusion of the week, Etem had collected 38 goals and 28 assists for 66 points in 56 games.
