It could’ve been a perfect homecoming. Kale Kessy, back at home, playing the first-ever game in a brand new rink.
Kessy’s Medicine Hat Tigers will head to Shaunavon Friday to face the Regina Pats in a WHL exhibition game. Kessy attended the grand opening for the newly-opened Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in July and no doubt had visions of returning when it had ice in it.
But no, he had to go and get drafted by the NHL’s Phoenix Coyotes.
“Second year atom I think was my last time playing there,” said Kessy, one of eight Tigers who will leave Medicine Hat in the next week for pro camps.
