BUSENIUS NETS OT WINNER
The Tigers’ finished off the first half of the season on a high note defeating the BC Division leading Kamloops Blazers 7-6 in overtime on Saturday night. Ty Stanton (1G, 3A) and Elgin Pearce (2G, 2A) had big nights to help lead the Tigers to victory.
The teams battled back and forth trading leads a few times throughout but the Tigers persevered to win in the extra frame. Both teams had six different players score in the game. Curtis Valk, Jayden Hart, Cole Sanford, Ty Stanton, and Dylan Busenius each scored once for the Tigers and Elgin Pearce added a pair in the win. Boston Leier and Jacob Doty also found the score sheet with a pair of assists each.
Brendan Ranford, Tim Bozon, Joe Kornelsen, Rob Trzonkowski, Matt Needham and Joel Edmundson added to their goal totals for the Blazers.
The Tigers special teams was a difference maker in the game going 3 for 8 on the power play and 2 for 2 on the penalty kill.
Marek Langhamer won his sixth game of the year making 31 saves. Blazers goaltender Cole Cheveldave was beat seven times on 34 shots.
