GAMEDAY PREVIEW – TIGERS VS RAIDERS

As the Tigers complete this mini two game road trip, they head into Prince Albert to take on the Raiders. Then Bengals will be looking for a better result as the Tigers are coming off a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Saskatoon Blades last night. Garin Bjorklund started in net for the Tabbies and stopped 29 of 33 pucks sent his way.
TIGERS VS RAIDERS
Due to restrictions from the COVID19 pandemic the Tigers and the Raiders did not play each other last season, having last met on February 5th, 2020. The Tigers are 3-4-1-0 against the Raiders in the last five seasons, going 2-2-0-0 at the Art Hauser Centre. The Tigers powerplay has been successful 2/19 number of times this season, while the penalty kill has successfully killed off 87% of man advantages. The Raiders powerplay is 2 for 25 with their penalty kill sitting at 71%.
PRINCE ALBERT RAIDERS
The Raiders are themselves coming off a defeat at the hands of the Moose Jaw Warriors. The Raiders fell 4-1 last night at home, with Ozzy Wiesblatt scoring the teams only marker of the night. Prince Albert is now 1-5-0-0 on the season after having lost their last five games after beating the Regina Pats on opening night.
WHO TO WATCH – TIGERS
20 year old Alternate Captain Daniel Baker is in his 5th season for the Tigers having appeared in 169 contests. The 6’4 blue liner currently has 65 career points (16G, 49A) including a huge game tying goal in the dying minutes of the third period against the Edmonton Oil Kings. Baker is a solid two-way defenceman who is as comfortable blocking shots as he is breaking out of the defensive zone. Look for Daniel to have an impact
WHO TO WATCH – RAIDERS
Ozzy Wiesblatt (SJ 2020 – RD 1, 31) has five points (3G, 2A) in five games so far this season. The Calgary Alberta product already is coming off his first multi-point game of the season with a goal and an assist againt the Moose Jaw Warriors. The 20 year old Centre is the older brother of Tigers forward Oasiz Wiesblatt. This will be the first time these two brothers have played each in the Western Hockey League.
