BJORKLUND, WATSON AND DYCER HEADED TO 2017 WHL CUP
Medicine Hat, AB — The partnership with BC Hockey, Hockey Alberta, Saskatchewan Hockey Association, Hockey Manitoba and Hockey Canada have announced the team rosters for the 2017 WHL cup. The WHL cup features the highest rated players from the 4 provinces across Western Canada. 80 players are scheduled to compete at this years event, 72 of those players were selected in the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.
Medicine Hat Tigers will have a trio prospects heading to the 2017 WHL cup. Goaltender Garin Bjorklund will be representing Team Alberta in between the pipes, Defencemen Ryan Watson who will man the blueline for team BC and Defencemen Austin Dycer who will join team Saskatchewan on the back end. Bjorklund, Watson, and Dycer were all selected in the 2017 Bantam Draft by the Tigers.
- Garin Bjorklund was the first goalie taken in the 2017 Bantam Draft, 1st round- 21st overall
- Ryan Watson, 3rd round- 65th overall
- Austin Dycer, 8th round- 175th overall
