A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
Medicine Hat Tigers centre Markus Eisenschmid’s parents made the trip from Germany to see their son take part in Saturday’s 7-5 victory over the Calgary Hitmen, and while he didn’t get the chance to see them before puck drop, he made sure to send them a message from the ice.
It only took four minutes for the 19-year-old German prospect to score his first of the night, and he went on to add another to break a 2-2 tie in the second period.
“I had the third one on my stick where I hit the crossbar there, but I’m happy with the two goals,” Eisenschmid said with a smile.
It was a long day for Eisenschmid’s parents Horst and Brigitte, who made the trip across the Atlantic Saturday morning and arrived at The Arena just in time to witness their son’s standout performance on the ice.
“My dad’s a teacher so he can’t leave on Fridays, so they just left this morning,” said Markus. “They just got here….
