GAME PREVIEW: The Raiders (1-0-0-0) head to Swift Current tonight to take on the Broncos (0-0-0-0) at the InnovationPlex. Last night in the Raiders’ Home Opener, four Raiders had multi-point efforts in a 7-4 win over the Regina Pats at the Art Hauser Centre. Ben Harvey had a four-point night, while Connor Howe scored a pair of goals. Maddix McCagherty chipped in a goal and two assists. Riley Boychuck added a pair of helpers. Benett Kelly, Carsyn Dyck, and Alisher Sarkenov also scored for the Raiders.

THE MATCHUP: Tonight is the first of eight meetings between the Raiders and the Broncos this season. Last year, the Raiders swept the eight-game season series. Riley Boychuk paced the returning Raiders with a goal and 10 assists while playing in all eight games during last year’s season series.

DEBUTS AND FIRSTS: Five players made their Raider debuts on Friday night against the Pats: Carsyn Dyck, Darius Hordal, Cash Lanigan, Oskars Luks, and Athens Shingoose. Hordal, Shingoose, and Liam Myhre all picked up their first WHL point on Friday as they each recorded an assist in the Raiders’ win.

GAME WINNER: Speaking of Carsyn Dyck, his first goal as a Raider on Friday night held up as the game-winning goal. It was the second game-winning goal of Dyck’s WHL career. He also snapped a 15-game goalless drought dating back his time with the Portland Winterhawks. He last found the back of the net on February 26, 2026 against the Seattle Thunderbirds. The Warman, SK product put up six goals and added eight assists in 36 games with the Winterhawks during the 2025-26 season.

STREAK ENDER: Fresh off his time at Pittsburgh Penguins rookie camp, Benett Kelly got the Raiders on the board for the first time in the 2026-27 season. His goal ended a personal 16-game goalless streak for the blueliner, with his last goal came on February 7, 2026 against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

HELPING HAND: Ben Harvey recorded his second career game with three assists on Friday night against the Pats. His last three-assist performance came as part of a six-point night against the Moose Jaw Warriors on March 13, 2026. The Edmonton, AB product finished his rookie season with 14 goals and 13 assists in 45 games played.

MAN ON FIRE: After leading the Raiders in scoring during the 2026 WHL Pre-season, Maddix McCagherty’s scoring touch carried over to the regular season with a three-point night. The Kelowna, BC had nine multi-point games last season.
