GAME PREVIEW: The Raiders play their 2026-27 Home Opener tonight at the Art Hauser Centre against the Regina Pats. Banners will be raised to the rafters at the start of the game as the Green & Gold are coming off a 2026 East Division title and a 2026 Eastern Conference Championship victory.

THE MATCHUP: Tonight is the first of seven matchups between the Raiders and the Pats this season. Last year, the Raiders won seven of the eight meetings between the two sides, including all four games at the Art Hauser Centre. Brayden Dube led all scorers in last year’s season series with 14 points in seven games; Jonah Sivertson led all returning Raiders with 9 points in eight contests. Zachary Lansard and Keets Fawcett each had seven points during the 2025-26 season series.

ATTENTION CAMPERS: Five Raiders attended NHL training camps at the beginning of the month – Riley Boychuk (Calgary Flames), Brandon Gorzynski (Dallas Stars), Benett Kelly (Pittsburgh Penguins), Michal Orsulak (Detroit Red Wings), and Jonah Sivertson (Vegas Golden Knights). Boychuk, Kelly, and Orsulak have been returned to the Raiders.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE: Overage forward Maddix McCagherty led the Raiders in scoring during the 2026 WHL Pre-season with four goals and two assists in three pre-season games. He scored the Raiders’ final four goals of the pre-season, including an overtime winner over the Saskatoon Blades. McCagherty, who was acquired mid-season from the Wenatchee Wild last season, finished with 14 goals and 42 points in 44 games as a Raider.

ROSTER MOVES: On Tuesday, the Raiders acquired 2008-born centreman Carter Kingerski from the Tri-City Americans for a conditional sixth-round pick in the 2030 WHL Prospects Draft. Kingerski, a Headingley, MB product, had three goals and 10 points in 45 contests last season for the Americans. The 6’0, 181-lb centre was a second-round pick of the Americans in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

NEW FACES: Including Kingerski, up to seven players have the potential to make their Raiders debut tonight. The other six are Kade Corbet, Carsyn Dyck, Darius Hordal, Cash Lanigan, Oskars Luks, and Athens Shingoose.
