Game Preview: December 27 @ Swift Current
SETTING IT UP:
The Prince Albert Raiders (23-5-4-0) start the second half of the regular season tonight in Swift Current as they take on the Broncos (8-23-1-0). The Raiders ended the first half with a dominant 8-3 win over the Memorial Cup host Kelowna Rockets on Friday, December 19th. The Broncos, meanwhile, have lost 12 games in a row, most recently a 9-2 setback to the Calgary Hitmen. Swift Current has given up at least six goals in five straight games. It’ll be a battle of two sides of the Eastern Conference tonight. Prince Albert is first in the Conference with 50 points, while Swift Current is in last with 17; a difference of 33 points.
SCORE-ZYNSKI INTRODUCES HIMSELF TO THE ART HAUSER CENTRE:
In his first home game as a Raider, Brandon Gorzynski did NOT disappoint. The forward scored his first career hat trick, and added two assists for a five point night against the Rockets on December 19th. He has the most goals on the Raiders with 16, while his 35 points ranks second on the team behind Aiden Oiring (36). Gorzynski’s nine powerplay goals this season also ranks first on the team, and tied for sixth in the WHL.
AO!:
Aiden Oiring had quite the night too against the Rockets, as he scored a goal and had three assists. It was the third four-point night in his WHL career (November 14th, 2025 @ Seattle, November 29th, 2024 @ Swift Current). He also recorded his 200th WHL point against Kelowna.
MISSING PIECES:
Matyas Man and Michal Orsulak will continue to be away from the team, as they are playing for Czechia at the 2026 World Juniors Championship in Minnesota. Meanwhile Alisher Sarkenov, who was playing for Kazakhstan at his World Juniors Championship, will return to the lineup tonight after capturing a silver medal.

The Raiders will wrap up a home and home set against the Broncos on Monday night at the Art Hauser Centre. After that, they will kick off a new home and home set, this time with the Regina Pats on Friday in Prince Albert, and ending on Saturday at the Brandt Centre. Prince Albert will get the Broncos once again coming up, as they’ll battle at the Hauser on Friday, January 9th.
