Oil Kings unveil second annual Star Wars themed jersey
The Edmonton Oil Kings, in collaboration with Compassion House Foundation, unveiled their 2018-19 Star Wars jerseys on Wednesday.
The jerseys will be worn by the team during Star Wars Night when the Oil Kings host the Medicine Hat Tigers on Family Day this coming Monday, February 18 at 2:00 PM MT.
Tickets to the game start at $20 and are available here.
“The Oil Kings are excited to unveil our second Star Wars themed jersey today. These jerseys reflect a unique experience for our fans and once again will be auctioned off in support of Sorrentino’s Compassion House,” said Edmonton Oil Kings Director of Business Operations, Daniel Troiani.
“We pride ourselves on being a family brand that supports our community partners. This event on Family Day creates an incredible synergy between our Brand and mandate, and we hope to see many families throughout our community at Rogers Place.”
The special edition jerseys worn by the Oil Kings will be open for bidding via a silent auction on the main concourse near Section 130 throughout the game.
Proceeds from the jersey sales will go to support Sorrentino’s Compassion House, a haven for women battling cancer.
The 17,000 square foot is equipped with 15 guest suites and common areas. Guests to Sorrentino’s Compassion House come from more than 260 communities in central and northern Alberta, Northwest Territories, Yukon and beyond for treatment at the Cross Cancer Institute.
“Compassion House Foundation is honoured to join forces with the Edmonton Oil Kings and their fans for Star Wars night,” said Compassion House Foundation Executive Director, Mellissa Kraft. “The funds raised from the jersey auction directly help women who must leave their homes for cancer care.”
