Oil Kings acquire forward Roan Woodward from Everett
October 10, 2023 (Edmonton, AB) – The Edmonton Oil Kings have acquired 2005-born forward Roan Woodward from the Everett Silvertips in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick pick (via Seattle).
Woodward, 18, is in his third season in the WHL, all spent with the Silvertips, appearing in 113 career games and registering 23 points (7G, 16A), 42 penalty minutes and a -25 plus/minus rating. Additionally, he has suited up in 10 career WHL post-season games recording one goal and one assist.
“The Edmonton Oil Kings would like to welcome Roan and the entire Woodward family to the Oil Kings organization,” said Oil Kings President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Kirt Hill. “Roan is a hard working 200-foot player with great hockey sense in both ends of the rink. The Nipawin, SK product was originally drafted by the Silvertips in the fourth round, 87th overall, of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
This season, the 5-foot-10, 177-pound forward has recorded two assists, four penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating.
