GAME SUMMARY: Oil Kings thumped by ICE
Edmonton, AB – The Edmonton Oil Kings dropped a second straight game to the Winnipeg ICE at Rogers Place on Tuesday afternoon at the Club’s annual Hockey Hooky game.

It would take Winnipeg just 41 seconds to take the lead after Zach Benson was able to tap home a back-door feed from Ben Zloty after he deked his was towards the Edmonton net.
Midway through the first, the ICE tacked on a second goal to take a 2-0 lead into the first intermission after Conor Geekie jammed in a puck in front of the Edmonton net.
In the second period, Ty Fraser extended the Winnipeg lead to three 2:29 in with a hot-shot from the slot for his first career WHL goal.
The Oil Kings were able to get on the board just over two minutes later courtesy a power play goal from Dawson Seitz after he picked the short-side top corner from the left-circle of the Winnipeg zone for his third goal of the campaign.
Later in the period, Winnipeg would build a 5-1 lead thanks to goals from Vladislav Shilo and Matthew Savoie.
In the third period, Savoie, Shilo and Fraser would all add their second goals of the afternoon, while Carson Lambos and Connor McClennon both found the back of the net as well to give Winnipeg a 10-1 win.
Kolby Hay and Logan Cunningham combined for 26 saves in the loss, while Daniel Hauser turned in a 27-save performance for his 32nd win of the season. Edmonton was 1-for-5 on the power play, Winnipeg was 0-for-4.
Next up, the Oil Kings hit the road to take on the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday night at 7:00 p.m.
