GAME DAY: Hurricanes Kick Off Trip in Cranbrook
Lethbridge, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes begin a three-game road trip tonight as they visit the Kootenay Ice for the first time.
The Hurricanes (14-8-3-2) are riding a three-game winning streak after sweeping a three-in-three weekend. Their most recent victory was a 5-4 overtime win against the Red Deer Rebels on Sunday. Taylor Ross had three goals and an assist while Dylan Cozens scored in regulation before Nolan Jones netted the overtime win to improve the ‘Canes record to 5-0-1-0 in their last six games.
The Ice (7-20-3-1) enter having been handed a 10-2 loss in Portland to the Winterhawks on Sunday. Nolan Orzcek and Peyton Krebs scored the goals in the losing cause. Kootenay enters tonight’s game on a nine-game losing streak and have dropped 14 of their last 15 games overall.
Tonight will be the second meeting of the season between the Hurricanes and the Ice; Lethbridge earned the victory in the previous meeting in October at the ENMAX Centre.
VS. ICE: Tonight will be the second of six meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Ice. The Hurricanes earned a 6-3 meeting in their lone match-up this year. Lethbridge posted a 6-1 record last year in seven games against Kootenay outscoring them 32-14 in the season series.
