Hurricanes Acquire Pouteau from Regina
Moose Jaw, SK – The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Wednesday that they have acquired 1998-born defenseman Brady Pouteau from the Regina Pats in exchange for a seventh round draft pick in the 2018 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.
Pouteau, 18, will turn 19 on January 9th. The product of Oak Bluff, Manitoba was originally selected by the Pats in the fourth round (79th overall) in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. Over the last two seasons in Regina, Pouteau has appeared in 61 games scoring seven points (2g-5a) along with a plus-7 rating and 12 penalty minutes.
So far this season, the 6’3”, 200-pound rearguard has dressed in 18 games picking up two assists with a plus-5 rating and six penalty minutes. Prior to joining the Pats, Pouteau played two seasons with the Pembina Valley Hawks in the Manitoba Midget Hockey League where he appeared in 59 games picking up 28 points (8g-20a) along with 18 penalty minutes.
With the trade, the Hurricanes now have a total of 23 players on their roster including 13 forwards, eight defenseman and two goaltenders.
Pouteau will make his Hurricanes debut tonight wearing #28 as the Hurricanes face the Moose Jaw Warriors.
The Hurricanes return home to the ENMAX Centre this Friday when they welcome the Edmonton Oil Kings before hosting the Red Deer Rebels on Saturday night.
