Wes Vannieuwenhuizen Commits to UBC
The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate former Captain Wes Vannieuwenhuizen for committing to the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.
The 6’3″ defenceman played four seasons with the Giants racking up 5 goals, 26 assists and 416 penalty minutes in 191 regular season games with the team.
Vannieuwenhuizen was the recipient of the Giants’ 2012/13 Players’ Choice Award and was also recognized for his academic success with the Post Secondary Academic Award.
The Chilliwack native will be joining former teammate Neil Manning on the blue line for the Thunderbirds.
Vannieuwenhuizen will be a part of UBC’s Faculty of Arts.
