Lee Nominated for CHL Goalie of the Week
The Vancouver Giants would like to congratulate Payton Lee on being nominated for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week award.
Lee picked up his first shutout of the season, stopping all 23 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over the Kamloops Blazers on Friday before the Giants defeated the Prince George Cougars 9-1 on Saturday. Lee stopped 26 of 27 shots that the Cougars fired his way in the win.
The Cranbrook native finished the week with a 0.50 goals-against average and a .980 save percentage while improving his record to 6-2-0-0 on the young season.
The 18-year-old is now 41-43-4-3 in his WHL career after being drafted 28th overall in the second round of the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.
