PREVIEW: Giants Look for Bounce Back Effort Saturday vs. Warriors
Langley, B.C. – Tonight the Vancouver Giants (9-5-1-2) look for a bounce-back effort when they host the Moose Jaw Warriors (7-8-1-0) for the first time since November 2, 2024.
The Giants weren’t themselves last night, starting well but fading quickly against the Tri-City Americans in what was an eventual 5-3 loss.
Vancouver had a successful October, going 7-2-1-2 with a +15 goal differential, but they have now dropped their first two games in November and are 1-3-0-1 in their last five games.
The Warriors began their B.C. Division road trip with a 3-2 overtime win over Prince George on Wednesday where they tied the contest with 1.4 seconds left in the third period and then grabbed the extra point less than a minute into 3-on-3. Last night they pushed Victoria to overtime, but lost 4-3 with 23 seconds remaining in the contest.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vancouver Giants dropped a 5-3 game to the Tri-City Americans on Friday night at Langley Events Centre.
The score was 1-1 heading into the second period after both teams exchanged power-play goals in the opening frame. Vancouver and Tri-City each scored early in the second before Tri-City started to take over the game, scoring late to take a 3-2 lead into the third period. The Giants got one goal back late, but the Americans pulled away with two empty-net goals to make the final score 5-3.
Mathis Preston, Brogan McNeil and Jakob Oreskovic each scored for the Giants. Blake Chorney picked up three assists, while Tobias Tomík had a pair of helpers. Burke Hood stopped 32 of 35 shots he faced.
TONIGHT’S MATCHUP
Tonight is the first and only meeting of the season between Vancouver and Moose Jaw.
The Giants sit in third place in the Western Conference, while the Warriors are in 10th in the East. However, Moose Jaw is 3-0-1 in their last four, while the Giants have just one win in their last five.
Last season the Giants won the lone matchup 5-3 early in the season, where Chorney scored his first career WHL goal.
