Giants Sign Local Defenceman Iriberri to WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement

Ladner B.C. – The Vancouver Giants are excited to announce the signing of 2010-born defenceman Santino Iriberri (Maple Ridge, B.C.) to a WHL Scholarship & Development Agreement.

Iriberri, 16, was undrafted to the WHL, but was added to the Giants protected list last season and impressed at 2026 training camp.

The 6-foot-2, 195 lb. defenceman spent the 2025-26 season with Yale Hockey Academy’s U17 Prep team, where he had eight points (2G-6A) in 18 games.

“Santino has put the work in and had a great training camp,” Giants Head Coach and General Manager Michael Dyck said. “As he continues to grow his game, he has a bright future ahead.”

Iriberri made his WHL preseason debut on September 4 against Seattle. He will spend the 2026-27 season with Yale’s U18 Prep squad.

“I’m super excited to sign with the Giants,” Iriberri said. “It’s really special to be part of such a great organization, especially since it’s my hometown team. I’m thankful for my parents, coaches, friends and advisor for all their support. I’m excited for the future.”
