Broncos Acquire Forward Ryley Lindgren from Hurricanes
Swift Current, SK – The Swift Current Broncos made a big splash as the 2017 WHL Trade Deadline winds down, acquiring 20-year old forward Ryley Lindgren from the Lethbridge Hurricanes and a sixth round pick in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft for prospect Carson Dyck and a third round selection in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.
The native of East St. Paul, MB has skated in 42 games for the Hurricanes this season, collecting 42 points (14g-28a) and will be a welcomed addition to the Broncos lineup.
“Lindgren is a terrific player and makes our hockey club better,” said Broncos Head Coach and Director of Player Personnel Manny Viveiros. “We’re thrilled to have Ryley join the Swift Current Broncos and be an impact player this season.”
The 5-11, 187lb forward was originally selected by the Brandon Wheat Kings in the fifth round, 96th overall in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft and has tallied 136 points (56g-80a) in 229 career games.
Lindgren is expected to make his debut on Wednesday night when the Broncos host the Kootenay ICE at the Credit Union i-Plex. Puck drop is at 7:00pm CST.
