Game Notes vs Everett – Dec. 3rd
The Swift Current Broncos beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes for the third straight time Wednesday night in overtime, 3-2. The Hurricanes would start the scoring off halfway through the first, giving them an early lead. A tripping call to the Hurricanes in the second period would allow Adam Lowry to capitalize on the Broncos fourth power play of the night making it a 1-1 game. It would remain 1-1 until halfway through the third period, when Justin Dowling would give the Broncos their first lead of the night, with help from Lowry and Reece Scarlett. The Hurricanes would tie the game shortly after making it 2-2 through regulation time. The Hurricanes would be called for major checking from behind with less than two minutes remaining, giving the Broncos a slight advantage as they headed into overtime on the power play. On the power play, Cody Eakin would help Dowling score his second of the night to lead the Broncos to a 3-2 victory. With the win, the Broncos have upped their consecutive win streak to four games. The Broncos out-shot the Hurricanes 39-25. On the man advantage the Broncos were 2/7 while the Hurricanes were 0/7. The Broncos sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, three points behind the Medicine Hat Tigers and seven behind the Red Deer Rebels.
NUMBERS: Stepan Novotny leads the team with 14 goals…Justin Dowling leads the team with 26 assists and 37 points…Graeme Craig and Andy Blanke are tied for the team lead in penalty minutes with 51…Dowling is 4th in the league in assists with 26, tied for 2nd in the league in power play assists having 15 and 10th in points with 37…Mark Friesen is 1st in the league in minutes played (1530), and 2nd in saves (766) and wins with 15, and he is tied for the 2nd in shutouts (3)…Friesen is 11th in the league in goals against average (2.90).

The Swift Current Broncos currently sit at 2nd place in the East Division nine points behind the Saskatoon Blades, while the Silvertips are currently in 5th place in the U.S. Division two points behind the fourth place Spokane Chiefs.
