GAME DAY: Broncos Host Warriors in Maple Creek
PRESEASON HEAD-TO-HEAD: This will be the second meeting for both teams in the 2012 pre-season. The Broncos fell 3-1 to the Warriors in the annual Rookie Game at Mosaic Place. Glenn Gawdin had the lone Bronco goal with assists to Dakota Odgers and Tanner LeSann. Travis Child and Landon Bow split the goaltending duties, with Child stopping 9 out of 10 shots and Bow stopping 16 out of 18.
FRESH FACES: The Broncos most recently acquired 17-year-old forward Gull Lake, SK product Justin Spagrud and a 2nd round conditional pick from the Victoria Royals for the rights to Evan Richardson.
They also added overage forward Chance Lund to the lineup from the Seattle Thunderbirds for a 6th round pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
RE-ASSIGNED: The Broncos re-assigned two players over the last few days. Forward Jordan Wittman will return to the Swift Current Legionnaires (SMAAAHL), while forward Cavin Leth will join the Drumheller Dragons (AJHL).
The three 15-year-olds (Glenn Gawdin, Travis Child and Max Lajoie) have returned to their hometowns following the Broncos appearance at the Edmonton Oil Kings Annual Pre-Season Invitational.
ONE STEP CLOSER: Veteran defenceman, Reece Scarlett, signed an entry-level contract with the New Jersey Devils Thursday morning.
