ROSTER: The Broncos roster currently consists of 22 players. The team has 3 – 20 year old players, 8 – 19 year old players, 4 – 18 year old players, 6 – 17 year old players and one 16 year old player. Geographically, 13 Broncos are from Alberta, 7 are from Saskatchewan, 1 is from the Czech Republic and 1 is from Finland. There are 7 rookies and 15 veterans on the roster.
CALGARY TIES: Six Broncos hail from the Calgary, AB area, including Ryon Moser, Adam Lowry, Coda Gordon, Dillon Heatherington, Brycen Martin and Bobby Zinkan.
WORLD U-17 CHALLENGE: Rookie defenceman Brycen Martin has been named to Team Pacific for the 2013 World Junior Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Victoriaville and Drummondville, Quebec. Martin was selected in the 1st round, 2nd overall, by the Broncos in the 2011 WHL Bantam Draft.
SUBWAY SUPER SERIES: Adam Lowry and Graham Black were selected to represent Team WHL at the 2012 SUBWAY Super Series where they went 1-1 against Russia. Team WHL’s captain, Lowry, tallied a power play goal on Thursday, November 15th in the 5-2 loss to Team Russia.
FOR THE “W”: General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb is one win away from the 100 mark of his WHL coaching career. He took over the role of General Manager and Head Coach of the Broncos in July of 2009.
CAPTAINCY: The Broncos named Adam Lowry the 26th captain in franchise history based on a team vote. Richard Nedomlel, Reece Scarlett and Josh Derko were named alternates.
“PLAYERS TO WATCH”: Dillon Heatherington and Colby Cave cracked the Central Scouting’s Preliminary Watch List. Heatherington was one of 8 WHL players on the B list, while Cave was listed amongst 26 other WHL players on the C list.
