Estephan reaches pair of 300th milestones
Swift Current, SK: Throughout the 2018 U.S. road trip, Swift Current Broncos forward Giorgio Estephan reached a pair of WHL milestones on the first two games of the trip.
The 20-year-old suited up in his 300th WHL contest on Wednesday, January 17th against the Tri-City Americans at the Toyota Center and notched an assist in a 3-2 Broncos win. Although he only suited up in his fourth game as a Swift Current Bronco since being acquired from the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the WHL Trade Deadline, it is a terrific accomplishment to reach as it is rare.
Estephan than checked off another 300-related milestone, this time scoring the opening goal on Friday night against the Portland Winterhawks to register his 300th career point in the WHL. He went on to add an assist in what was a 5-3 Swift Current win.

Estephan was originally a first round selection, fourth overall in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft and spent his entire career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes before becoming a member of the Swift Current Broncos on January 9th. He has 23 playoff games under his belt, including 18 last year when the Hurricanes advanced all the way to the WHL Eastern Conference Finals. The 6-0, 196lb forward has scored 301 points (121g-180a) in 301 regular season contests over five seasons.
Furthermore, Estephan joins teammate Matteo Gennaro in the 300 games played club after Gennaro hit the plateau on December 12th against the Prince Albert Raiders. Team captain Glenn Gawdin is within reach of 300 regular season games played as well, entering Saturday night’s game against Seattle with 290 career regular season games. The three 20-year old forwards can be the first trio of teammates to play in their 300th game in the same season.
