Broncos Fall to Blades

Although they put up a hard-fought effort, the Swift Current Broncos fell 3-0 to the Saskatoon Blades at the Credit Union i-Plex.  Duncan Siemens opened the scoring late in the first giving the Blades a 1-0 lead.

The contest would remain 1-0 until midway through the third when Lukas Sutter would up the Blades lead to two.  In the dying minutes of play, the Broncos would pull netminder Austin Smith in hopes of closing the gap, but an empty-netter by Nick Zajac would seal the deal and make it a 3-0 final.  The Broncos were 0 for 3 on the power play, while the Blades were 0 for 4.  The Broncos had 36 shots on net, whereas the Blades had 28.
