Broncos Release 2017-18 Regular Season Schedule
Swift Current, SK – The Western Hockey League has unveiled the 2017-18 regular season schedule on Tuesday. The Swift Current Broncos will kick-start their 51st campaign on Friday, September 22nd on the road with a trip up north to take on their East Division rival, the Saskatoon Blades at 7:05pm.
The Broncos will start the season with four games on the road before hosting their home opener against the Kootenay ICE on Saturday, October 7th at the Innovation Credit Union i-Plex.
CHL hockey makes a presence in Swift Current as Game 2 of the annual Canada Russia Series will be hosted at the Innovation Credit Union i-Plex on Tuesday, November 7th. Tickets for the annual event will be released at a later date.
Swift Current will host the five BC Division Clubs this season including the Kelowna Rockets on Wednesday, December 13th at 7:00pm.
The team will take their annual west-coast trip down south of the border beginning with a stop in Kennewick, Washington to take on the Tri-City Americans on January 17th before wrapping up the five-game swing against the Spokane Chiefs on January 23rd.
The Broncos longest home stand this year lasts four games in length ranging from December 12th – December 27th.
Furthermore, the Broncos will host the Red Deer Rebels at 4:00pm on Sunday, January 7th which marks the lone Sunday afternoon home game this season.
The Broncos home schedule is comprised of 22 weekend matinees including 16 Saturday games, five Friday games and one Sunday afternoon affair. Five home games are scheduled for Tuesday and the remaining nine contests are slated for Wednesday evenings.
