Swift Current, SK – The Swift Current Broncos have acquired prospect forward MacKenzie Wight from the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for veteran forward Tyler Adams and a conditional pick in 2019.
Wight has skated in 12 games for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL, notching nine points (5g-4a) before skating in six contests with the Thunderbirds. “We are excited about MacKenzie’s potential,” said Director of Player Personnel Manny Viveiros. “He’s a player that we think can contribute to our hockey team down the road.”
Adams skated in 25 games for the Broncos this season, collecting seven points (1g-6a) to go along with a plus-2 rating. The native of Regina, SK recorded 20 points (7g-13a) in 97 career WHL contests, all with Swift Current.
“We’d like to thank Tyler for everything he did for our hockey club over the past two seasons,” mentioned Viveiros. “His commitment to the Broncos was exceptional and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”
