Broncos & Blades Complete Trade
Swift Current, SK – The Swift Current Broncos have dealt 18-year old forward Cole Johnson to the Saskatoon Blades in exchange for a pair of future WHL Bantam Draft picks including a fifth-round selection in 2018 and a seventh-round pick in 2017.
Johnson suited up in 34 games for the Broncos this season, recording 10 points (4g-6a) to go along with a plus-1 rating and 18 penalty minutes. A product of Marwayne, AB., Johnson was selected in the second round, 34th overall by the Broncos in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft and collected 11 points in 43 career games.
“We thank Cole very much for his contributions to the Broncos,” said Director of Player Personnel Manny Viveiros. “We wish him all the best with the Blades and thank him for representing us on and off the ice.”
Swift Current returns to action on Friday, January 6th when they welcome the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Credit Union i-Plex. Puck drop is at 7:00pm CST.
