Saskatoon Blades Unveil New Website Design
The Saskatoon Blades website has undergone a bit of a facelift!
One of the projects the team had set aside for this offseason was to update the look and feel of the Saskatoon Blades website. It’s been over two years since the look had been updated and fans will notice a few changes!
The team’s 2012-13 slogan is once again “Bleed Blue” and that has been one area that has been addressed in the new design. Just like the Bleed Blue logo, the new website design has the look of splattered, blue blood dripping down the screen.
The new look also features a prominent Blades logo down the left-hand side, something that was not featured very prominently on the old website.
As many of you know, the Blades are also the proud hosts of the 2013 MasterCard Memorial Cup. That element of the upcoming season is also portrayed with the use of the 2013 Mem Cup logo on the top right side of the main webpage.
To finish off the visual changes to the site, four players will be featured on the right hand side of the screen. The four players featured are Duncan Siemens, Andrey Makarov, Dalton Thrower and Lukas Sutter. The images of the players will rotate on a refresh-to-refresh basis throughout the course of the year.
Along with the visual changes, there have also been a couple of additions and changes to features on the homepage. Last year the Blades introduced a photo gallery to the site and it ended up being one of the most viewed pages the site had. Therefore, a photo gallery area has been added for easier access to the team’s photo galleries.
Another one of the changes comes in the form of a team leaders area that will give fans a look at players stats on the main page throughout the course of the season.
“These are all changes that we’ve really been looking forward to,” said Blades Manager of Communications and Community Relations Cody Nickolet.
“It’s been a while since we updated the look of our site and are very happy with how things have turned out. The new look really fits with our ‘Bleed Blue’ slogan and it was a fun process to go through. Not only that, but a few of the changes will make the site easier to navigate for our fans.”
The Saskatoon Blades would like to thank Steven Cadovius and his team at MRX for their work in this design process.
