BLADES ACQUIRE BRENDEN WALKER FROM BRANDON
The Saskatoon Blades are pleased to announce the acquisition of forward Brenden Walker from the Brandon Wheat Kings.
In exchange for Walker, the Blades surrender a 2nd round pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft, a 2nd round pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft and a 3rd round pick in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft. The deal also gives Brandon a right to swap 1st round picks in the 2014 WHL Bantam Draft.
Walker is a native of St. Anne, Manitoba and is coming off of a career year that saw him score 26 goals and post 81 points in 68 games. He also added 61 penalty minutes and finished the year as a +16.
“Brenden has always been a fierce competitor against the Saskatoon Blades,” said Saskatoon Blades Head Coach and General Manager Lorne Molleken. “He’s coming off of a career year offensively, provides excellent leadership and is also a very good two way player. With these two trades, we’ve added three solid forwards and have really addressed some areas of our team that were key for us going forward. We would like to welcome Brenden into the Blades organization,” added Molleken.
