Blades alumni vying for Stanley Cup
The Saskatoon Blades will be well represented in this years NHL Playoffs, with three former players vying for the Stanley Cup.
Michael Ferland will look to help guide the Calgary Flames through a tough Western Conference. Ferland played with the Blades during their 2012-2013 Memorial Cup Season, and just completed his rookie season with Calgary.
In the Eastern Conference, two Blades alumni will play key roles in trying to help Washington get to the prestigious Stanley Cup.
The first is Defenceman Mike Green, who played for the Blades from 2000-2005, and was also a Blades Captain.
Green is joined on Washington by Goaltender Braden Holtby, who tended the Blades net from 2005-2009. This season with the Capitals, Holtby led the NHL in shots faced, saves, games played, and minutes played. He also posted a career high 41 wins.
