Snelgrove scores twice as Jr. Knights rally to defeat Sens
The London Jr. Knights fell behind 2-0, but came alive in the second half of regulation, scoring four unanswered to defeat the Mississauga Senators 4-2.
Parker Snelgrove (1, 2) scored twice, firing home the game winner 44 seconds into the third period.
Caden Taylor (5, 6) gave the Sens an early lead with a pair of markers, but London responded quickly as Tanner Ducharme (2) put the Knights on the board midway through the second period.
Looking to close the gap, Snelgrove found the back of the net twice to put the Knights ahead before Aiden Young (4) would score the empty-netter to clinch the comeback victory. Young finished the game with a goal and two helpers.
“We came out here today ready to compete. We were all back-checking and playing how we were supposed to, it showed on the scoreboard. Contributing the game-winner is an amazing feeling and I’m looking forward to the next game,” said Snelgrove.
The 2-1 Knights will face the Whitby Wildcats (2-1) today at 4:45pm as the Subban Division remains up for grabs. The 2-2 Senators complete their round robin awaiting results later today. They’ve been led offensively by Caden Taylor, who sits second in tournament scoring with 10 points (6-4–10) through four contests.
