OHL Cup U16 AAA Top 10 Rankings – Week 2 (Dec. 6, 2024)

Toronto, ON – The Ontario Hockey League today announced the Week 2 edition of the weekly U16 AAA rankings for the 2025 OHL Cup Showcase Tournament hosted by the Greater Toronto Hockey League.

The 2025 OHL Cup will feature 20 teams consisting of talent eligible for the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. Starting with three Wild Card Play-In matchups on Monday, March 24, all games will be played at the Scotiabank Pond in Toronto until the Championship Final moves to the Mattamy Athletic Centre on Friday, March 28.

The Huron-Perth Lakers rise two spots to number one on this week’s list after coming out on top at the Gloria Rints Memorial Silver Stick Tournament in Whitby last weekend. The Lakers defeated the Toronto Red Wings, who made their way onto the list this week, by a score of 3-2 in overtime on a game-winner by captain Jake Murray.

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens also rose two spots to number two on this week’s list after reaching the Silver Stick semi-final. Another tournament semi-finalist, Detroit Little Caesars, comes in at number five this week. They’ll be competing in this year’s OHL Cup Showcase Tournament, returning for the first time since 2019 when the featured the team that included current NHL blueliner Luke Hughes.

The weekly rankings are determined by a panel of OHL Central Scouting staff and represent the top teams that are competing to play in the annual year-end championship tournament.
